Can only queue with Diamond, Master, and Challenger players. Placements, Promotions, and Series Placements Everyone starts off each new ranked season without a rank.
The first ten games you play in each queue will place you in a tier and division for that queue. Where you land is based on the outcome of these games, the difficulty of the opponents you faced in these games, and your rank from the previous season and preseason. You can read more about preseason here. Promotions and Series Once you're placed in a division, you'll earn League Points LP for each game you win, and lose them for games you lose.
Once you collect LP in a tier, you'll enter a promotional series. To advance a division, you'll need to win 2 out of 3 games. To advance a tier from Silver I to Gold V , you need to win 3 of 5. Dodging a promo series counts as a loss. In instances where a player elects to dodge a game in a promotion series by leaving during champion select, their account will be ineligible for promo helper upon entering their next series.
Finally, promo helper only works once each time you get it. Demotion occurs if you lose enough matches at 0 LP in a division or tier. Decay Platinum, Diamond, Master, and Challenger are all subject to decay. A lot of fun. But when i see this time i had few months breake in gaming how it is matching people to game i am frustrated. Maybe should be some elo or what to compare it? How it works i dunno but i know in my games i see almost all the time atleast 1 troll, 1 flamer and 1 feeder sometimes in the same person.
And i know we cannot avoid it. Atleast thats what hirez said in past patches. I hope this are some nice ideas if you guys have any please say i would like to see what you think. Again, that won't fix the problem, it will make it worse. You will still have children and just untalented players who have spent a large amount of time to meet that requirement, and the queue will be even more empty than before.
That's a good point. I'm not saying entry requirements are bad. I think they're great. They're just not doing what they were intended to do in this game because of the poor quality of the queues and matchmaking, and literally EVERYONE agrees on that. I do believe that if the entry requirement to competitive were lowered, queue population would grow and matchmaking would work better in this case. That, and there's really no reason to put an entry barrier to a friggin solo queue, for crying out loud.
I think Hi-rez just got overzealous and thought that if they called it competitive mode, it would be competitive. Making Tank and Healers more available for newbies in this game. Make the Requirements Higher for Competitive Play - Its not enough to have 12 level 4s of ANY CHAMPION CATEGORY again this produces one dimensional players - I suggest AT LEAST 3 CHAMPIONS ON LEVEL 6 FROM EACH CATEGORY i think would be fair AT LEAST 3 CHAMPIONS ON LEVEL 6 FROM EACH CATEGORY AT LEAST 3 CHAMPIONS ON LEVEL 6 FROM EACH CATEGORY AT LEAST 3 CHAMPIONS ON LEVEL 6 FROM EACH CATEGORY AT LEAST 3 CHAMPIONS ON LEVEL 6 FROM EACH CATEGORY Please make this happen!
Competitive mode is not so competitive when you're playing with newbies! If no names are displayed, your character is in-between dungeons and cannot use the Instance Matching system. You character can still enter a lower-level dungeon normally, however. Instance Matching will group up people based on the needed roles. A party will consist of one guardian class or tank , three damage dealers, and one healer. You can enter Instance Matching with your own party provided you meet the role and level requirements , or be queued up into a party of players from multiple servers.
While you're waiting for the party to fill out, you can still craft, quest, or explore. Once your party is full, you'll be notified and given an option to teleport to the dungeon entrance. It's important to remember that when using TERA's Instance Matching system, certain dungeons have a wide range of levels available for matching. If your party has more than a five-level spread between any two members, the chance of meaningful loot is drastically reduced.
Whenever possible, TERA's dungeons should be played with parties of equivalent and appropriate levels. Roles Within the Party One important party aspect is understanding the roles each character plays. There are three main roles—tank, damage dealer, and healer. The role of a tank is to attract and hold the attention of the most dangerous opponent in a battle. You'll know you have a BAM's attention when you see a red circle on the ground. In addition to the red aggro circle, a character might also be sporting a purple one, indicating they're the target of an enemy skill.
This typically ends up on a ranged combatant, but it's not uncommon to see a particularly effective tank with both. The best tanking classes in TERA are the lancer and the warrior. You'll want one in your party. Tanks should use any skill they have that increases aggro the lancer's Taunt is a great example, as are the warrior's combo attack and Rumbling Shout While the tank attracts attention, the damage dealers concentrate on bringing the enemy's health down as quickly as possible. Damage dealers use high damage attacks to grab aggro—sometimes to the tank's dismay!
